im starting
Updated: Oct 15
I went to the gym today looking for my friend Leah and Raven from Nursing School. I suspected that both of them were going to the gym after class today. I even encouraged Raven today in class because i overheard her asking questions about what it would be like there. I poked her with my pen and said "Raven you better go."
After class I went straight there, rushing, hoping to get there around the same time they did. I was hoping that there was going to be enough time for all 3 of us to do our workout together. i swipe my student card to get into the gym, and i was so excited because the parking lot was FULL. It's never this busy when i go later in the day. Campus is boomin. I walk downstairs to the weightroom, and neither of them are found... just a 8-9 dudes scatterred around. I put my stuff away in a locker, run upstairs and look around some. Nowhere, whatever, ill call Raven as I go back downstairs and do a small workout.
Raven is Not here, and she is not coming today, but maybe next time. Fuck, there is Leah, I point at her, and say OMG there you are. I was hoping i would catch both you and Raven, and we could do a group workout together, but Raven is off picking up her Dog. Leah remembers Raven talking about that, Me and Leah did our FULL workout together.
Then i saw a strong guy, so i went over there, because I was just last talking to Leah about starting social media, and she did not have any interest. So when i walked up to him, my first question was about how involved he was on campus. He was excited to talk about the subject. I told him about how a student in my class sent out a groupme invite and had our teacher share it. I told him i want to send a message in the groupchat saying, "HEY ALL, there is a small group of us going to play frisbee golf @ X park @ X ocklock, if anyone else wants to join".
He started to get the point that i wanted to get a group together. I asked him ho involed he was in his classes, and how many years he has been here. I encouraged positive thoughts by saying how he must be getting pretty close to some of his classmates, and how he should start doing something similar to this.
I got good feedback, and felt relied on. To help initiate the growth of these small little communities, and the amount of channels, and camaraderie we can open up.
I asked him what major he was, and i described the story of wanting to use social media to branch our friendships. He felt motivated, and i told him about my desire.
We started sharing IDEAS, and realized that sharing was the level of communication we were looking for, and the examples we gave were the most motivational part of our conversation.
Moving quickly into the conversation of communication itself, and pathways of expression, along with the conversation on how motivation can be found.
Without getting disappointed that the connection was still not found, realizing that our methodological act was intentional, and more than just inspirational, but IT (itself) was progress on the idea.
Other small groups just need pathways to connect each of them. There needs to be more communication, and transformation between the small groups.
the ideas i can move forward with are
making that frisbee golf event offer on social media.
I need to keep having conversations about promoting oneself on social media. Even though its just self promotion. That im going to be doing it
The ability to design a shirt that mentions "X"
The multiple Post on my social media that says "X" BIG and BOLD"
I am here
AT UMSL today
Joining the Students in Nursing SCHOOL
under each one the description is inviting, on how im talking to multiple people getting us in groups
We need to mix groups, we need to arrange people in pairs, and have the ones that want to show up, keep getting to hang out around new groups of people
I cant be the only one interjecting myself, I have to carry a pack with me, and speak on behalf of others.
There has to be a promise that others will be there, and it wont just be us two
If I have to individually take one group who are already friends and be the 5th wheel in order for them to hang out outside of class then i am willing to facilitate that too.
The skills available and interest in performing this task, are
group study time,
chances to build closer relationships
grow each of their social medias
branch out on their own self confidence to speak and meet new people in group setting
to create a plan for what the group will do together
what the plan will be for them to discuss while they are together
what free stuff am i going to give them
how much will that stuff cost me
what does it have to look like for them to actually want it
does each one have to be different, and they can each take one for themself, and feel individualized
Or trade amongst each other, and bartar their rational for the reason they want that.
What will be the story the discuss
is it their childhood
last year, prior goal before coming into this program
why are you being asked to come around and help people out
what is your position amongst these groups of people
is what you are wearing enough for them to identify you, or are you their teacher, that introduced yourself at the start of class, on the first day that you all met, and now you are guiding all future projects that they have to work on.
lets work together to build the blueprint, for what you
have to learn
have to read
have to write
have to memorize
have to work on
have to figure out on your own
she wants to know how to send something from the computer, to the printer, in the computer lab
she knows what tabs to open up, what buttons to push, she was here previously, and is guiding the future generations coming through
Is everyone here doing their mushrooms. I have some. Here. Passing out stickers of mushrooms cut out full size to get oddly comfortable

How the two platforms work together
TonyBeffa.com — The deeper resource
The website should serve as the organized home for your ideas. It can explain the thinking behind your projects, preserve longer reflections, document creative work, provide useful resources, and show how your ideas develop over time.
@art.tonybeffa — The public-facing creative channel
Instagram should serve as the discovery and conversation channel. It can introduce ideas through images, short videos, captions, observations, and questions that invite people to look more closely and think more deeply.
The relationship between them
Instagram introduces an idea. The website develops it. Audience feedback informs future work. Reflection and evidence help improve the next iteration.
A practical standard for every project
Before publishing a post, article, photograph, or video, ask:
Purpose: What am I trying to communicate?
Evidence: What supports the factual parts of this message?
Quality: Is it clear, useful, and thoughtfully made?
Responsibility: Does it respect privacy, rights, and audience well-being?
Technology: Have I used my tools effectively and verified important details?
Communication: Will the intended audience understand the message?
Perspective: How might someone with a different background interpret it?
Overall mission
To build a thoughtful creative platform that uses art, communication, research, and reflection to help people see familiar things from new perspectives, understand ideas more clearly, and engage with the world and one another more intentionally.
The central objective is not simply to publish more content. It is to develop a body of work that is meaningful, responsible, understandable, and worth returning to.
